I totally understand even though its not as complicated as it may sound. And there will come a point in time when it won't be possible to do it at all. I suppose I went into off-topic territory with this, but to answer your question, installing Windows 7 on current hardware is a pain especially for someone who is not well versed in the technical aspects of computing and OS. I think im not allowed to but i highly recommend that version, simply because it was the last update before the telemetry wave hit us all and it all went downhill from there if you ask me. Not sure if im allowed to share my Win 7 ISO here with updates only up until November 2017. Any updates that came after that were mainly security updates which you dont need on an offline machine. My counter question would be why would you want to use Win 10 so bad on an offline machine? Why not Win 7 instead? Find a Win 7 ISO with updates up until November 2017 and you are perfect to go. I shared before how these services are not really turned off when turning them off within the options of Win 10. Through some update, then i would think its possible since windows services in general tend to run in the background and Win 10 makes it difficult to completely turn off all telemetry and services. "And now i'm like a major threat because i remind you of the things you were made to forget." You guys better stay away from using warez on latest Win 10 updates or the near future, not sure if it has been implemented fully yet or not but thats their plan to be able to detect pirated warez on your computer and disable it. Nor do i have any of the windows updates downloaded on that particular offline computer, which will eventually turn your Win 7 into Win 10 with all these nasty telemetry updates spying on your every activity. Im using Win 7 on my offline music production computer and never had an issue so far. Some of you might want to take the warnings more serious and settle for an offline computer for music production. Now whether or not this is the case here, i dont know, most likely the issue is something else here but it might still be helpful for some to know about the whole Win 10 / piracy detection in the near future. I would stay far away from using warez on Win 10 while at the same time being connected to the internet. Just google "windows 10 piracy detection" and read up on it. When I reloaded the project file after replacing Bank 1, nothing in the actual VSTi had changed, indicating that in order to replace the bank, the autosave must be enabled. the patch bank) is stored with the ensemble file. The currently-loaded patch is stored with the project file, but all the other patches (i.e. I'll try this next.ĮDIT: It appears that Reaktor doesn't store the bank info with the patch presets regarding knobs, faders, etc. I think the crash could be eliminated on the user end by replacing Bank 1 with the custom snapshots instead of creating a new one. I think the problem is either with the way REAPER loads patches, or it's a combination with how Reaktor 5 stores its bank settings. I am not sure if this is the exact cause, but since it's the ONLY thing in the project file that started causing the crash, I can list the steps I did.ģ.) Add Reaktor 5 VSTi, load up Carbon 2 (shouldn't matter which instrument)ĥ.) Go to snapshots, "new bank", load in a separate snapshot bankĦ.) Select the patch, save the project, close REAPERħ.) REAPER should crash with an unhandled exception upon next load.
